[ARRL-ODV:10513] Re: President Bush encourages BPL

Dave: I'm concerned there will be some confusion with the SM's and some clubs. The SM's in my Division ask me periodically "where's the package." Had one do that as recent as this weekend at a hamfest. Same with a few clubs. If we put some "call to arms" out tomorrow to write the White House, I suspect some will wonder "where's the package" or "is this the package." I understand you're talking about writing the White House and the motion was for Congress, but the mechanism to engage action can be the same with both, I think, and that was the intent of that motion, to get something ready to distribute to the troops advising them of how and what to do. 73, Rick - K5UR In a message dated 4/26/04 7:41:59 PM Central Daylight Time, dsumner@arrl.org writes: << Rick, that motion spoke only of the Senate and Congress. The target of this effort will be the White House. However, we can now update the package and make it clear to everyone on the Hill that the White House has stepped in it. By the way, the two-page leave-behind has been distributed to every Senate office and every House telecomms subcommittee member. We're working on a "Dear Colleague" letter for Greg Walden to send out with it. >>
