[arrl-odv:19051] Web Update June 11

Here is my Web progress update for this week. We all understand your frustration with the Web site functionality and we are trying to remedy these issues as quickly as possible. We are making progress on database related areas of the Web site particularly in the Section Manager and Club information sections. These have been the most problematic areas of our conversion and we want to assure you that our IT Department and Fathom continue to work on them as diligently and expeditiously as possible. As suggested by a number of you, we have completed a new Section Manager page that now lists ARRL Sections alphabetically by State: http://www.arrl.org/sections . This page will now be the landing page for Sections. We have also retained the previous Section by Division Page at: http://www.arrl.org/sections-by-divisions These two pages are now cross-linked. We have also fixed some remaining bugs in the Field Day Locator and it is now functioning properly. Finally, our IT Department has hired two additional employees. One has already started and the second new employee is scheduled to start towards the end of the month. These new employees are well qualified and will bring the IT Dept up to full staffing enabling us to move forward with our IT work. However, results will not be instantaneous; there will be a period of adjustment while they get up to speed in our specific systems and computing environment. Steve Ewald is also passing this email on to the SM List. 73, Harold Harold Kramer Chief Operating Officer ARRL -the national association for Amateur Radio 225 Main Street Newington, CT 06111 (860 594 -0220
