Mr. Courson is pro AM...very pro AM, and was a thorn in President Haynie's side for six years. Actually, I believe if I make a formal commitment to operate AM in exchange for monetary contributions or donations I would be violating Part 97....it is still the AMATEUR radio service! I was scratching my head on that one for a bit too and then realized he thinks we are not giving enough attention to AM in our publications and QST. I took it as a thinly veiled threat that if we do not give AM the attention he feels it deserves, we may not get the financial support from him we have enjoyed (I am assuming there was some) in the past. I think this is Bill's problem. That's my translation. 73, Wade W0EJ -----Original Message----- From: Jim Weaver, K8JE [mailto:k8je@arrl.org] Sent: Tuesday, February 21, 2006 2:42 PM To: arrl-odv Subject: [arrl-odv:13741] HUH? To put it in the very best of Midwestern vernacular, my reaction to WA3VJB's declaration of interdependence is . . . huh? Am I unusually dense today or has he chosen a very obtuse way to say we shouldn't expect the members to donate unless we are willing to pony up ourselves?
