Normally, nobody like to be proven wrong. But in this case, I am very happy to be proven wrong. In a stunning reversal of fortune, Indiana SB-109 (PRB-1 application to state law) was called out of committee and sent to the Indiana Senate where is was approved. After a conference committee to iron out differences between the Indiana House and Senate versions, it will be going to the Governor for his signature no later than July.

Thanks to the unrelenting efforts of Indiana SM Jim Sellers, K9ZBM, many other hams, and the bill's sponsors, this late-in-the-session approval was achieved.

This will leave only the Illinois Section without a state PRB-1 law on the books. I look forward to the push here in the fall session of the Illinois Legislature.

Rick and Dick,

I have just received word that SB 109, the Amateur Radio Antenna bill has passed the Indiana Senate in its modified form (no 75' height limitation), and will go to the Governor's Desk for his signature.

The Indiana Senate approved the bill by a 39-9 vote today. I wish we could have gotten the 75' height limitation before counties and municipalities could regulate amateur radio antennas in this bill. However, at least the essence of PRB-1 will be incorporated into the Indiana Statutes. I have included attachments with this E-mail that will give you a copy of the bill, and today's legislative action on SB 109.
