[arrl-odv:14093] Re: H Res 230

Kay and Jim, Good points there and I believe that Wade made a similar post a while back that none of us reacted to. I must confess I am not privy to the current plan or strategy we are employing on this important issue. The 30 or more folk in this ODV reflector should "always" be in the loop on any changes or tweaking in the plan if we are going to be successful. I certainly do not want to be beating a drum for letters or visits if that is no longer needed. I learned a long time ago that it is not a good idea for a leader to be asking the troops to do some unnecessary task. Bottom line - we need weekly updates/briefing sent to this reflector. Or at least twice a month. Frank......N2FF.............. Jim Weaver, K8JE wrote:
The word given me and that I've been passing on is: 1) No need to support H. Res. 230 and 2) It is too soon to become involved in a campaign to support H.B. 5252. I don't recall if it was Joel, Dave or maybe even John C. who gave this advice, initially. Similarly, there is nothing specific to support at this moment in the Senate regarding a BPL amendment to its communications act rewrite.

Please forgive me if I'm missing a point that everyone else has gotten. It's still not clear to me if we want members to continue writing their Representatives in support of H Res 230, or if that campaign is on hold while we urge them to write in support of keeping Section 502 in HR 5252. Thanks & 73 - Kay N3KN
