Western Washington DX Club member, ARRL life member, and all around great guy, Rod was a giant in contesting and DXing from the PNW. He was active in all modes and had a log in pretty much every contest. Besides major contests, he was on just about every week on Wednesday CWT and Thursday night Sprints. His current DXCC standings are impressive. 373 Mixed 370 Phone 350 CW 332 RTTY 2732 Challenge. Yesterday, unfortunately, he did not survive a medical procedure. He was featured in NCJ back in 2014. Such sad news. I've worked Rod many times over the years and been in many pileups with him. Good guy. Condolences to his family and friends.
