[arrl-odv:21148] FW: Morning update 10/29/12

Hi all, FYI, Here is Mike Corey's latest update to the SMs. These have been going out all weekend. If you need more info, Mike is available via email. We continue to monitor the situation from an EmComm response perspective. Mike and other staff have been working with FEMA and National VOAD to coordinate our response. Mike tells me that, atypically, WX4NHC is staying on the air for the duration of the event due to the intensity of the storm. 73, Harold ------------------------------------------------------------------------ ------------------------------------------------------------------------ ------------------ From: Corey, Michael, KI1U Sent: Monday, October 29, 2012 10:22 AM To: Beaudet,Robert(SMRI); Cecere, Pete SM ENY; Clements, Carl (SM,VA); Cross, Jim, (SM, MDC); Doane, Betsey, K1EIC (SM, CT); Emco,Ed (SM,WMA); 'ENY SEC'; Famiglio, Bob K3RF (SM, EPA); Filipkowski, Frank ( SM, DE); Gayet, Paul SM VT; 'George'; 'John'; 'Julio'; Krohn, Richard (SN,NNJ); Lisenco, Mike (SM,NLI); Morine, Bill (SM,NC); Rinehart, Ann (SM,WV); 'Rob'; 'Robert VT'; Rodgers, John (SM, WPA); Shuman,Al, (SM,NH); Strayline, George, (SM,SNJ); Tarplee, Marc (SM,SC); Temples, Phil (SM,EMA); Woodhead, William (SM, ME) Subject: Morning update 10/29/12 Hi all, Thank you everyone for all the updates over the weekend. While I may not have replied to each one they were all read through. Over the weekend HQ participated in a conference call with SE PA VOAD. We were invited to sit in as one of the NVOAD members. I was glad to hear that the other participants were already in touch with local Amateurs. HQ will stay in touch with NVOAD and if any requests for assistance come through we will pass those on. ARRL HQ is preparing for the storm. Normal business hours may be altered over the next couple days. Watch the website for updates. (See Barry's message HK) Later today I will be shifting my operations to my home QTH. I will be on VOIP WX Net as long as we have internet. I can go to HF if needed (or locally VHF/UHF). From home I can also be reached on Skype, you should be able to find me using my ki1u@arrl.org email address. I will also continue monitoring email. Ham Aid requests - first these must be made through the Section Manager. Keep in mind that once a request is made transportation must be arranged. Many airports are shutting down so we're working on identifying alternative means of transportation. Thanks and stay safe!
