[arrl-odv:19018] WP Docket No. 10-72, ARS Communications During Government Disaster Drills -- ARRL Comments Filed

Greetings. Today, the due date, following review and approval by the Executive Committee and some helpful edits received, I have filed the attached comments electronically in the FCC's ECFS. These comments urge the adoption of the Board's limits on emergency and disaster preparedness drill participation by amateurs on behalf of their employers. This docket contains some 199 comments so far, and the reply comment date is coming up June 7. It is anticipated that some brief reply comments may be necessary, and with help from Dan Henderson, we are now looking at the comments filed. Several comments seek to open the door to Amateur communications for one's employer far more widely than the Board has decided to permit. That said, we have some well-respected organizations such as NPSTC urging relief that is slightly more restrictive than what the Board urges as well. So, perhaps some balance exists; we will see. Please let me know if you have any concerns or questions. 73, Chris W3KD Christopher D. Imlay Booth, Freret, Imlay & Tepper.
