RE: [ARRL-ODV:7099] Re: There goes the noise floor again....

"Someday soon" you can do wireless video within the home?
Or for that matter, with a Leitch encoder, you could have done wireless video in 1994...just as ABC has done with Golf coverage in the last 8 years.
When was the TV Rabbit first put on the market -- 15 years ago?
The rabbit was just a wideband TV transmitter. It transmits into your TV. It doesnt integrate with your home LAN because its composite video. Those who own 2GHz LAN systems all have the option to run serial Digital Video over such links. Im sure you all have such equipment. ABC is currently putting a 2 GHz LAN in the building for server playout of MPEG2 video on The Disney Family Channel. Of course, given the current cost of equipment, I would suspect very few will take advantage of the high speed LAN needed to implement video around the home... Oh, and there is one other minor point. It's the "solution" to a problem that doesnt exist. You know....like Hi definition TV...or an 8 track audio tape player. -73- Steve, W2ML
