[ARRL-ODV:9914] Monthly call for ARRL in Action items

Dave Hassler asked me to pass this along. ______ Hi All. There are changes afoot for "ARRL-in-Action!" What we're striving to do is pack more items--a dozen is the target--onto the column's pages each month. Rather than trying to tell a complete story in four or five paragraphs, we're going to try to just "hit the highlights" of an action or an event. The topics remain the same: anything that shows the League, it's Board members, HQ staff and/or volunteers serving the membership. Been to a hamfest or a club? Let's hear about it! Hear of something in your division that shows off the League's service to hams? Give me the lead and I'll run with it. Nothing is too grand or mundane to mention, when it shows ARRL working with and for the membership. A quick paragraph or two will let members know we're working hard in their interest. Got a neat picture? That and a couple of sentences will make a fine stand-alone photo! Anything that is a direct helping action is great for this column. Some recent examples of items include: helping out at a Big Project pilot school, getting materials to a remote club, SGLs informing state officials on ham radio, and an OO team solving a particularly tough interference problem. Or maybe something else, big or small? If it's something the League is doing on behalf of its membership, then it's fair game and I'm all ears! My deadline this month (March issue) is Jan. 14. I know you all have a lot to do to prepare for the board meeting, but if you have 10 minutes to drop me a line, I'll surely appreciate it. My direct e-mail is k7ccc@arrl.org. Thanks and I look forward to hearing from you. 73, Dave Hassler, K7CCC News Editor QST Magazine and ARRLWeb PS: Feel free to stop in to my office in the Book Team area and say "Hi" when you get here!
