This is just one facet of an ongoing problem that I have been asking HQ to resolve since shortly after I became a Director at the beginning of 2019. And it’s a big part of the reason why I (still) feel so strongly about EC review of certain categories of ARRL news releases before they become public. I am signed up for every possible communication from HQ in my settings, and still I get nothing of consequence — just special deals on publications. It’s a ton easier and far less embarrassing for all of us if we could only get everyone at the League who posts to the ARRL web site or other media in the habit of automatically copying ODV on planned releases than it is for Directors to be constantly saying to constituents, “Gosh! I hadn’t seen that! I’ll get back to you on that.” Or having to pull stuff back, such as this EC special meeting. I’ve already gotten an earful about our PPP application from a leadership official here in my division. And if you don’t care to see this stuff and/or don’t care that sensitive material “accidentally” gets out, then get a laptop like mine with a big Delete key. Barry, how do we fix this? But, it does raise the question whether that info is confidential. There was a series of ODV messages in April marked confidential when we were seeking the PPP loan. 73 Rick - K5UR -----Original Message----- From: Mark J Tharp <kb7hdx@gmail.com<mailto:kb7hdx@gmail.com>> To: arrl-odv <arrl-odv@reflector.arrl.org<mailto:arrl-odv@reflector.arrl.org>> Sent: Sun, May 17, 2020 5:21 pm Subject: [arrl-odv:30309] Re: EC minutes Upon reflection of this email, it was not intended to be a snarky question. If they normally do and this is just an oversight, no harm no foul, but if they are not normally posted to ODV I'm curious why. 73.. Mark, HDX
