I agree with Bob, but for different reasons.
There is already such a group that is defined and managed outside the ARRL. The SMs like it that way for a number of reasons, primarily in that they can speak their mind about League issues with their peers.
Generally, I believe SMs are under appreciated and under valued. They are the ARRL's first line of customer service, recruiting and problem solving. We should have some metric based measurement, such as membership growth, member satisfaction or license upgrades.
We should also find a way to integrate the On the Air initiative with the Field organization by identifying on the air accomplishments.
So I agree that we don't need the group. Because it already exists, most SMs belong to it and it is private among the SMs.
