At last night's ARRL Foundation Annual Meeting (conference call), the following officers were elected: President Tom Frenaye, K1KI Vice President Jay Bellow, K0QB Treasurer Jim McCobb, W1LLU Secretary Mary Hobart, K1MMH The change of Secretary represents the first step of a plan to move the administration of the Foundation from Field & Educational Services (Mary Lau, N1VH) to the Development Office over the next couple of months. This will help to align ARRL and ARRLF efforts to provide a single contact point for fund raising efforts. At the meeting last night the Foundation Board noted that the services and support provided to the Foundation by Mary Lau over the past fifteen years was exceptional and very much appreciated. Also of note was the announcement that Ward Silver, N0AX, had been selected as the winner of the 2003 Bill Orr, W6SAI, Technical Writing Award. The award selection is made by the ARRL editorial staff based on articles published in 2003 QSTs that most exemplify the writing philosophy of Bill Orr - that articles should tell a technical "story" that appeals to a broad audience extending beyond those individuals having a particular interest in the topic. -- Tom ===== e-mail: k1ki@arrl.org President, ARRL Foundation http://www.arrl.org/arrlf/ Tom Frenaye, K1KI, P O Box J, West Suffield CT 06093 Phone: 860-668-5444
