Folks, Jim and I has some good email discussion on this. Thought I would expand a little. So, without taking a position one way or theother, let me ask you to consider the following: 1 - To what degree area people responsible for their own leadership? To what degree should people be expected, even at some risk, to resist a government that is going astray? 2 – In places where dissentand open speech are stifled, what are the chances that dissidents will beallowed to get ham licenses. Put anotherway, what are the chances that the people you talk to on the air are “selected”to be pro-government? 3 – Is the refusal to take a politicalposition itself a political position? Isthat just complicity through silence? I’mreminded of Martin Niemoller’s famous quote.
