As expected, it was a busy week after Dayton, with W1AW receiving visitors who were coming back through the area after attending the convention. Joe updated the regular
CW practice QST source page and processed regular QSL card requests. He also processed one Qualifying Run endorsement. Scott worked on slow and fast code practice files for the week.

The Utah Section Manager election ballots were counted on Tuesday, May 19, at ARRL Headquarters. Incumbent Section Manager Mel Parkes, NM7P, won the election against Pat Malan, N7PAT. Mel Parkes, of Layton
Utah, has continued to serve as the Utah Section Manager since 1999. His new term starts on July 1. Thanks to Leona Adams, Chuck Skolaut, Gail Iannone and Steve Ewald for assisting with the election and ballot counting.
The Maryland/DC Section will have a new Section Manager starting in July. Marty Pittinger, KB3MXM, of Owings Mills Maryland, was the only nominee for the position. Jim Cross, WI3N, the outgoing Section Manager
of Maryland/DC, decided not to run for another term of office. Jim Cross has been Section Manager since January 2006.
The West Texas Section will also have a new Section Manager in July. Ron Harden, Jr., KB5HGM, of Baird Texas, was the only nominee for the position. Bill Roberts, W5NPR of Alpine, Texas, decided not to run
for another term of office. Bill has been Section Manager since 2011.
The following incumbent Section Managers did not face opposition in this spring season’s election cycle, and they will continue with new two year terms of office starting July 1. Peter Stohrer, K1PJS (New Hampshire);
Richard Krohn, N2SMV (Northern New Jersey); John Bigley, N7UR (Nevada); Bob Beaudet, W1YRC (Rhode Island); Dan Pruitt, AE6SX (San Joaquin Valley).
An interference complaint from a person in Missouri was referred to the OOC there who investigated the situation and suggested things for the individual to try. Several complaints about 14.313 MHz were received.
A Washington radio amateur reported hearing a foreign broadcast station on 14.125 MHz, and it was also heard in France and Australia. Questions came in regarding Technician Class privileges, operating in Canada, identifying as mobile operation, and applying
for a vanity call. The holder of the call KP4CI reported that his call sign was being bootlegged. Chuck Skolaut conducted a tour of headquarters and W1AW to three visiting radio amateurs.
