Kay It has been my experience that Antenna Nazis don't like to be reasonable. They are already lying about the bill which is also par for the course. Totalitarianism survives on disinformation so stay on offense, stay on message with THE FACTS and don't let them control the argument! 73 David A. We have learned that the Community Associations Institute, an HOA advocacy organization, has learned about H.R. 4969 and will be lobbying on the Hill against it. Their web site has a long story, including the sentence: "If successful, the bill would prohibit community associations from precluding HAM radio communications in their community and it would require community associations to make reasonable accommodations for HAM radio equipment; including the amateur radio towers, antennas, and other external devices."
So they're against accommodations that are "reasonable." Okaaaay.
This emerging opposition underscores the importance of doing as Mike and Brian have done in rallying members now to contact their Representatives by phone, e-mail, and/or in-person visits to urge co-sponsorship of the legislation and to explain why it is important to the individual member / voter. Mike and Brian have used their Division e-mail bulletins to stir up support.
Please do what will be most effective in your Division to get members to act. E-mail bulletin, Division web page, whatever.
The offer for TKG to assist you in making appointments with your Representative in the home district and to arrange appointments in Washington with Representatives from your Division still stands.
