Good Morning from snowy NYC --
We got around 31 inches of snow in my part of Brooklyn. Over the
course of the storm, I had to get out in the backyard a number of times to clear
an area for the dogs to go. White-out conditions during the storm made
that difficult. And then, to avoid shoveling 31 inches at once, we went
out 3 times during the course of the storm to clear the front steps, yard and a
path on the sidewalk for anyone crazy enough to be out and about.
NYC actually shut down all roads at 2:30 pm on Saturday, something I’ve
never, ever seen happen.
The car is buried and will stay in its spot for some days. The last
place I want to be is out driving. The main roads will eventually be
cleared, but the sidestreets will be impassible for a couple more days.
I got an email from Rick Lindquist on Saturday during the worst of the
storm asking if my SMs or SECs had reached out to me. I had to laugh to
myself as no one was going anywhere! I told him that all I was going to do
was not to talk to anyone, drink hot chocolate, and alternately watch the storm
or watch TV – AFTER I GOT VP8STI!!! (12, 15 AND 20 cw). You think we
had it bad? Look at their condx.
Anyway, it’s another Monday morning. The sun is shining. The
snow in the backyard is yellow. The melt begins.
All is right with the world!
CUL at the meeting this evening.

While folks to the south of us got pounded, here in northern
Connecticut Saturday’s storm amounted to just a few inches of snow – nothing out
of the ordinary. So we’re fully functional this morning.
