I wanted to let you know that we will be starting a telemarketing trial sometime in the next few weeks.  TeleReach, Inc., http://www.telereachinc.com, a professional telemarketing firm here in Connecticut, will implement this campaign.  The majority of TeleReach’s business is newspaper subscription telemarketing so they have very applicable experience.  TeleReach staff will be calling lapsed members to persuade them to join again.  They will only be calling members who have lapsed within the last 18 months in order to comply with telemarketing regulations.  TeleReach will also comply with all no-call list restrictions and restrictions that apply to individual states. 

We will be starting with a list of about 20,000 lapsed members.  Of the 20,000 lapsed members, they expect to actually reach about 10,000 and estimate receiving about a 5% -10% result.  An additional benefit of this effort is that we will be collecting feedback on why former members left the ARRL and what has persuaded to rejoin our ranks.  After we complete this trial, we will evaluate its effectiveness and proceed from there.
