I have made a grievous error. Doug N9GL has served on this committee since 2001 (not 2009); and the committee was first appointed in the late 90’s, so Doug has not served since its beginning. Among the appointments were two active radio amateurs. Doug Lapin, N9GL, is Chair of the ARRL RF Safety Committee and was re-appointed to represent ARRL and the nation’s radio amateurs. He is a Committee veteran, having served on the Committee representing ARRL since its beginning in 2009. Michelle Thompson, W5NYV, also was appointed to the Committee. Michelle is CEO of the Open Research Institute (ORI) and was appointed to represent that organization. ORI interests include amateur satellites. The Committee was first established in 2009 to help the Commission identify important areas of innovation and develop informed technology policies supporting the United States’ competitiveness in the global economy. The Commission stated that the committee will consider and advise the Commission on topics such as 6G, artificial intelligence, advanced spectrum sharing technologies, and emerging wireless technologies, including new tools to restore Internet access during shutdowns and other disruptions. I am looking forward to seeing many of you tomorrow evening in Windsor. 73, Dave K3ZJ David R.
