FCC's Katrina Panel Recommendations

Today's Federal Register carries the FCC Order implementing the recommendations of its Independent Katrina Panel. The whole document is worth reading, but note especially the references to amateur radio in paragraph 5 (and the discussion in paragraph 6) and 104. Some of the other paragraphs worth noting are 25-29 (credentialing), 47 (Web link information), 95 (Lee McVey, W6EM petition), and 108-111 (volunteers who build ad hoc networks in emergencies are not exempt from CALEA).
