Jim, This will certainly be an issue during the World Radiocommunication Conference (WRC-23) next year. This is not a new issue. The IARU has been working this problem since it was added to the WRC agenda at the last WRC. The amateurs are, as most are aware, secondary users of the band. There are currently studies being done within the ITU pursuant to the agenda item to determine if constraints need to be implemented to prevent amateur interference to the primary service in the band which is Radio Navigation Satellite Services (RNSS). It would not be a surprise to see measures or rules adopted which will impact the amateur use of the band to protect the primary service. 73, Rod From: arrl-odv <arrl-odv-bounces@reflector.arrl.org> on behalf of James F. I figured this was an exaggeration, but on the IARU website I saw this presentation: Microsoft PowerPoint - 23cm Band and RNSS _June2022.pptx (iaru.org)<https://www.iaru.org/wp-content/uploads/2022/06/23cm-Band-and-RNSS-June2022.pdf> I realize this will be an issue at WRC23. Any information on this, and do we have any “irons in the fire”? I hope all are having a happy 4th! ‘73 de Jim N2ZZ Director – Roanoke Division Representing ARRL members in North Carolina, South Carolina, Virginia and West Virginia ARRL – the national association for Amateur Radio Facebook Page: ARRL Roanoke Division Website: www.arrl-roanoke.org<http://www.arrl-roanoke.org/> [Text, logo Description automatically generated]
