Dayton Hamvention is May 17-19.  Jackie Ferreira reports that completed designs for all posters and other display items have been completed for the ARRL exhibits.  Diane Petrilli has assembled materials to send to each of our Dayton team members; staff, officials and volunteers (shirts, exhibitor badges, lunch tickets, etc.).  Bob Inderbitzen has composed a program covering all of the ARRL exhibits, activities and presentations for Hamvention.  The warehouse team is beginning to prepare our big shipment to Dayton.

A spring-themed publication and product mailing has just reached mailboxes, and is already generating a surge of additional online orders.

Field Organization/Public Service Team

Chuck Skolaut compiled and forwarded the monthly Official Observer Summary to all OOs, OOCs, and Section Managers.  Radio amateurs from Alabama, Kansas, and South Dakota successfully completed requirements to become Official Observers this past week.  Several reports were received of a “numbers station” that is being heard on 30 meters.  A beacon reported last week on 7030 kHz appears to have ceased.  Chuck conducted two morning code practice runs at W1AW, and Steve Ewald conducted one morning code practice as back-ups for vacationing staff.

Steve also completed editing work on the Field Organization Reports for June QST.

Leona Adams reports that ARRL members in Nebraska and Utah have been returning their filled-out Section Manager election ballots to Headquarters.  The receipt deadline is Friday, May 17, and the ballots will be counted on Tuesday, May 21.  Leona has also been busy updating the Field Organization data base with new appointments and handling information and supply requests.
