Kay has asked me to fill you in on a positive development on HR 607.
The Subcommittee on Communications and Technology has scheduled a hearing for Wednesday, May 25, 2011, at 10:30 a.m. in 2322 Rayburn House Office Building. The title of the hearing is “Creating an Interoperable Public Safety Network.” A couple of days ago we were contacted by David Redl, the staff counsel John Chwat and I met with back on March 11 (see [arrl-odv:19753] Board Confidential: Meeting report on HR 607). He asked the ARRL to provide a witness for the hearing. Kay has asked Chris Imlay to appear on our behalf.
As the subcommittee prepares its own approach to the issue, this gives us the opportunity to get into its records the points we have been making over the past three months with regard to HR 607. Chris is preparing the testimony
