Many great memories but the crime pretty much killed downtown Dayton for anything. This is the reason that the "festivities" are at Hope Hotel now. Tim Duffy made a great decision to move the contest activities out of downtown Dayton. While some aspects of Hope are lacking, the beer is cheap and the friends are all that matter. But most importantly you stand much less of a chance of being carjacked or mugged. "Don't cry for me Dayton Crowne Plaza" - I can see the spurs playing that. For those of you that have attended the Dayton Hamvention in the past will want to know that the Crown Plaza Hotel in downtown Dayton is closing at the end of this week. It seems that there just hasn’t been enough business for them to stay open any longer. I guess COVID-19 got another one. I know that over the years there have been many great memories of banquets and bashes held there. Like Hara Arena, they will now just have to live in our memories only. Sorry to be the one to bring this bad news to you. 73, Scott… Scott Yonally, N8SY Great Lakes Division Vice Director ARRL - The National Association For Amateur Radio™ n8sy@arrl.org<mailto:n8sy@arrl.org> 419-512-4445 419-756-5046
