Late last week, a few acknowledgements of amateurs' emails about Commissioner Abernathy's "Broadband Nirvana" BPL remarks began trickling out of her office. After a couple of exchanges with her Senior Legal Advisor, Matt Brill, we put together a story for the ARRL Web lead: http://www.arrl.org/news/stories/2003/11/13/1/?nc=1 The connection between "strict interference rules to prevent competitors from externalizing their costs" and our concerns about harmful interference is tenuous at best. However, if someone in the Commissioner's position is saying that she's agreed with us all along and that it was just a misunderstanding, it doesn't pay to examine the underpinnings too closely.
