Just to close the loop on this, Bernie just sent an email to his subscriber list stating that ARRL is presently reviewing the DXCC status of these two islands and nothing has been “added” yet.

Bernie is a little premature in announcing the "addition" to the DXCC List. That hasn't happened yet.

In the Weekly DX newsletter last night he just stated it had met the criteria for a new DXCC entity and didn’t say it had been added.

This is not a surprise, although exactly when it was going to be added to the "Dependencies and Areas of Special Sovereignty" public list from the Department of State was not known until it happened late yesterday.

Anyway, everyone seems to agree that it does meet the criteria and yes, an official announcement will come from us when it IS accepted.

In today's "Daily DX" electronic newsletter, editor W3UR announces addition

of St. Barthelemy (FJ) to the DXCC list as an entity separate from St.

Martin (FS) because of certain political changes affecting St. Barts.

If there's going to be an announcement of a new DXCC entity, wouldn't that

come from the DXCC desk? I can't find anything on our web site indicating

addition of this entity to the list and there is no reference to an

announcement from the DXCC desk in the Daily DX.
