The report claims 100.9 million high-speed lines in service to homes and businesses, a 22% increase in the first six months of 2007 and a 55% increase over a year earlier. BPL continues to play no significant role in providing Internet access. "Power Line and Other" -- the category into which BPL and some other technologies fall -- constituted just 5,420 of those lines or 0.0054% of the total. This is just 212 more lines than a year ago -- a laughably low rate of deployment for a technology that the FCC has touted as a "third wire" into consumers' homes. The complete report is available at http://hraunfoss.fcc.gov/edocs_public/attachmatch/DOC-280906A1.pdf. 73, Dave K1ZZ
