Many clubs are facing an IRS "time bomb" that goes off May 15 if they have not met the filing requirements that became mandatory three years ago. I have drafted the attached announcement, which has been sent out in a special edition of our Southwestern Division e-mail newsletter. You might want to consider a similar announcement to your respective divisions, and perhaps Norm Fusaro, to whom I'm sending this separately, can include it in an Affiliated Club Newsletter and/or on the ARRL Web site. If it saves clubs from losing their tax-exempt status, it will be well worth the effort, and ARRL will get the credit for having helped them avert an unfortunate situation.
