Hello Ria and Jeff I did hear a similar idea just a few days ago - that suggestion was for an activity/contest for longer period.... the suggestion mentioned was for a longer period than a weekend. But it looks like there would be lot of us on the air. Something that promotes amateur comradere would certainly be a nice diversion from the isolation and tension... 73, Kermit W9XA Sent from Yahoo Mail for iPhone On Monday, March 16, 2020, 13:47, Jeff Ryan <k0rm@comcast.net> wrote: I also received a suggestion from a member that the League should sponsor a "Hamvention" event on-the-air for the now vacant (available?) weekend. I forwarded it on to Barry. The member and I continued a discussion about other possibilities for local or state-wide on-the-air events to keep folks busy while we're limiting our group get-togethers. We've had canceled club meetings and swapfests across the division as have others. I have heard from several that we should have some sort of on-air activity to keep people busy during mandatory/voluntary disruption during COVID-19.
It doesn't have to be complicated - maybe a short on-air activity hour or similar. Get on air, say hello and such. 1 hour of get on air per day, no log submission.
Incidentally one club (Fair Lawn) has started a daily health and welfare net on its repeater.
