Toward the end of the Board meeting, it was requested that I prepare a recommended script for Board members' use in responding to those who express interest in the position now, or to inquire about Mr. Sumner's plans. Below is that recommended script. RECOMMENDED SCRIPTFOR ADDRESSING THOSE WHO RESPOND TO THE CEO CANDIDATESCREENING COMMITTEE ANNOUNCEMENT Thank you for your interest in ARRL’s management. The ARRLCEO has no immediate plans to retire. While the Board of Directors hasestablished a CEO Candidate Screening Committee as a mechanism for futureplanning, there will be a considerable and as yet undetermined period beforethe Committee will commence its work. ARRL is not now soliciting applicants for theposition and no expressions of interest will be entertained or evaluated now orin the near future.
