Well, after reading the review, it appears to have been done professionally, and I'm not certain why Yaesu was upset. After all, it took quite some time to bring the technology to market. The FT1DR was on display for about two years, and no mention was made as to when it would be available. During that time, DMR got a foothold and that system has and is expanding rapidly. That is a valid point to convey to our readers. All of the digital systems are incompatible at the present time. Connect systems is working to produce a CS-7000 that hopefully will do at least analog, D-Star, and DMR. Fusion is a possibility. They have decided not to pursue P-25 due to some licensing issues. So, Yaesu has to know that they are entering the market fairly late in the game. They perhaps know that their system will be every bit as successful as their WIRES interconnect system J As far as cost, there is a DMR/Analog single band HT (CS-700) that costs $180, which is much below the cost of any of the other Ham Digital HT's on the market. Not a good thing for either ICOM or Yaesu. I haven't seen the Gary Pierce piece yet. So, I would be interested to know why Yaesu was so offended with our product review that they would pull advertising. I hope Dave will share that with us. '73 de JIM N2ZZ
