John, Here are the answers to your questions: 1. Please confirm the number of LoTW users (you said it was 73k+). As of this morning, 73,115. FYI, this information is available at any time on the LoTW Home Page. 2. How much inventory does Amazon require we maintain at their Fulfillment Centers and at how many Centers do we maintain inventory? We do not know how what or how Amazon does to the books once we ship them. They have us bulk ship them to various warehouses throughout the country on an on-demand basis. 3. What percentage of the products shipped to the Fulfillment Centers is returned by Amazon as unsold? None - we do not take returns. 4. Are there plans to charge for the use of the Exam Review Online site after it is out of beta and stable? (It has promise). There are no plans to charge for this service at this time. 5. Do we know the sell through/click through rate for the digital ads in digital QST? Do the advertisers view the digital ads as increasing their return on their advertising? We do know the click/through rate for digital ads if there is a URL embedded or featured in the ad. It is difficult to know if the advertisers view the digital ads as increasing their return. Most of the smaller advertisers are still rather unsophisticated when it comes to digital advertising. Advertisers who have high click-throughs are notified informally be Deb Jahnke that their ad is being heavily viewed in the digital edition. 6. Where will the new media facility be located and how much do we project it will cost? It is located in the former storage room just behind the Conference Room. We don't have all the bills yet, but probably in the range of $5 - $6K for carpet, acoustic panels, paint and some furniture. The labor is being done in-house. I had Bob Inderbitzen research these. Here are his answers: 7. How many Centennial Vibroflex keys were sold? What was the net profit? There were 929 keys sold; net profit of $48,084. 8. Do members receive discounts from Liberty as against the normal insurance costs, or does the ARRL just get a cut of the action? What other insurance companies have we Our new relationship with Liberty Mutual will take effect on February 5. Liberty Mutual is already preparing a first round of solicitations to members. Landing pages promoting the new program will be introduced to Liberty and ARRL's websites. A press release will introduce the new program to members later this month. The program will be promoted using stuffers included with membership cards and orders, print and e-newsletter ads, in-person promotion at Dayton Hamvention, and in e-mail announcements/reminders conducted by ARRL on Liberty's behalf. Discounted auto insurance rates can be as much as 10%. ARRL will receive a 2% royalty on new premiums; 1% on renewals. 9. Which product divisions in publication sales failed to meet their revenue projections? With the exception of Beginner Training Aids (which includes The Ham Radio License Manual) and Membership Supplies, all other product divisions came-up short of revenue projections: Handbook, Repeater Directory, Training Aids, Other Books, Non-ARRL Pub Sales, RSGB BOOKS, and Royalty Books.
