For the House letters, I wanted to send a “thank you” rather than a “please” from members whose representative has already signed on to HR 1301.  Since I was unable to alter the machine-generated letter text, I created a unique letter of thanks for each of our nine such reps in SWD, ran copies on site, and had their constituents sign and manually add their addresses  in lieu of the system-generated House letter.  Example text appears below.

The Honorable Grace Napolitano

1610 Longworth House Office Building

Washington, DC 20515

Dear Representative Napolitano,

As a constituent in the 32nd District and a licensed Amateur Radio operator, I want to thank you for becoming a co-sponsor of HR-1301, the Amateur Radio Parity Act and for joining nearly one hundred of your colleagues who have done the same.

Passage of this legislation will help remove what has become a major obstacle to many licensees and make it easier for them to participate in the activities and public service for which the Amateur Radio Service was created.   We greatly appreciate your continuing support for HR-1301 as it makes its way through the House.

Sincerely,
