Director Jairam:
This is one of he issues we will be discussing with the IARU officers and RSGB officials during the Region 1 Forum held at Hamfair in Germany next week. Additionally, there will be one on one discussions during Hamfair as to how best to address the French proposal in preparation for WRC22.
I will provide an update in my July IAVP Board Report.

This is potentially huge. IVP Bellows and I were just talking about this an hour or so ago. Just learned of it and we need to be prepared to take action.

Subject: [arrl-odv:28201] 2 meters in France

Dear ODV,

As you may know, France wants 2 meters as the primary band for
aeronautical mobiles. The fact that they even propose this is
alarming. It's not the first time that 2 meters has been under threat
either.

"A proposal from France to consider the band 144-146 MHz as a primary
allocation to the Aeronautical Mobile service, as part of a broader
consideration of the spectrum allocated to that service."

It's one reason I always stress the need for every ham to be a member
of ARRL or their national society.
