I did speak with Jon on this issue a few weeks ago.
His response was that it is still too early in the process but that he is deeply embedded in the conversations.

To add on to what Rod said in ODV:33836, Jon Siverling attended the ITU WP5A (Working group) in person, which I believe was part of a two-week long meeting a few
weeks ago. CEO Minster can check with Jon for any further details.
Jon has been the US rep in the WRC preparation meetings and has been active and very helpful on Amateur matters where we may need IARU to provide input to any draft
ITU recommendations that Rod mentioned.
Happy 4th to all!

Jim,
This will certainly be an issue during the World Radiocommunication Conference (WRC-23) next year. This is not a new issue. The IARU has been working this problem since it was added
to the WRC agenda at the last WRC. The amateurs are, as most are aware, secondary users of the band. There are currently studies being done within the ITU pursuant to the agenda item to determine
if constraints need to be implemented to prevent amateur interference to the primary service in the band which is Radio Navigation Satellite Services (RNSS).
It would not be a surprise to see measures or rules adopted which will impact the amateur use of the band to protect the primary service.

I hope I didn’t miss any posts, but on one of my IO groups, there was a rumor that the EU and the US were both in danger of losing their 23 cm band allocation.
I figured this was an exaggeration, but on the IARU website I saw this presentation:
I realize this will be an issue at WRC23.
Any information on this, and do we have any “irons in the fire”?
I hope all are having a happy 4th!
