All Since February all efforts to add co-sponsors to HR 4006 have been stymied due to an internal issue involving the House E&C Committee. That issue prevented Cong. August Pfluger from becoming, as he had offered and as Cong. Bill Johnson had recommended, the official Republican co-sponsor of HR 4006 alongside Cong. Joe Courtney (D-CT). It also prevented Congressmen and Congresswomen who wished to be co-sponsors from doing so, since both the bill's co-sponsors had to agree to accept them and we only had one official co-sponsor: Rep. Joe Courtney. Matt Keelen, TVG, has been the primary lobbyist working on resolution of this impasse for the past three months. He reported this afternoon that the issue has been resolved — Cong. Pfluger is now officially the Republican co-sponsor of HR 4006.
