I have the original consumer grade GoTenna. Its a 2W model in the 151-154 MHz range. Since they were operating above amateur spectrum I thought no harm no foul as they claim FCC part 95 compliance. The product that Kristen found is a commercial product. It requires using their goTenna Pro Management Portal manage frequencies in accordance with communications regulations, per their web site. Looks like goTenna is putting the onus on user to program the radios to frequencies appropriate to the persons using the product. The newer "mesh" consumer product is a 1 Watt UHF radio claiming to be port 15 complaint. I'll be curious to see if ARRL HQ agrees with the manufacturer claims. 73, Matt Holden KØBBC Director, Dakota Division, American Radio Relay League Director, Association of Emergency Radio Organizations Director, Vice Chair, Metro Skywarn Deputy Director, Bloomington AUXCOMM On Fri, Mar 16, 2018 at 8:56 PM, James F. Just some thoughts…..
Interesting concept. I saw one review that listed them as 5W units, and that they had frequency stacks that included our 144-148 allocation and the upper part of our 440 allocation(US). They did say there was a catch-that commercial users needed to be authorized on whatever frequency they chose to use.
I’m just wondering if the company plans to seek authorization for these units for the Part 90 service. If so, they may be classed the same as VHF or UHF-Lo commercial radios that already have the capability of being programmed on our allocations-although Part 90 prohibits the programming of said units on unauthorized frequencies.
Maybe Chris could shed some light.

Has anyone looked at this yet? It was brought to my attention today. Seems like it could easily violate Part 97 in multiple ways. It’s not clear that it’s for sale yet.
