Interesting. Certainly not in the private sector. Our taxes at work....

So when are they going to get off their you know what and rule on some of our proceedings? Will it speed things up with them working at home?

I wanted to let you know that today the FCC Chairman and Chief of Staff informed all FCC employees that they would be permitted to continue to telework from wherever they are located until at least next June.
 
We want to provide those with concerns ranging from childcare to their own health with the peace of mind that they will have the flexibility they need over the coming months.” The decision was made “in light of recent announcements by school districts as well as the ongoing nature of the pandemic.”
 
The FCC also delayed the move to their new headquarters building until at least September, after it was determined that a staffer that had been in the headquarters building to pack for the move was diagnosed with the coronavirus soon after and had been in close touch with several other staffers in the process. It appeared that there had not been strict compliance with the mandated “social distancing” rules that were applied to staff permitted in the building to pack for the move.
 
When conditions permit, staff will be permitted to return to their offices in the new building.  But those who do not wish to do so will be permitted to continue to telework from home at least until next June, per the announcement.  (Keep in mind that a change in Administration is widely expected in January, without regard to election results.)
 
As I said last week, most of the FCC priority operations, including licensing and major rule makings (as determined by the Chairman) have continued without significant delay.  Lower priority items and issues, however, have tended to be put aside.
