He has been an advocate for ham radio but is also a prominent working journalist - he was the WH bureau chief at the VOA but also spent time on the ground at the Fukushima Daiichi nuke plant covering the event. Jamie Dupree, NS6T would be another. Apart from his journalism credentials he has also overcome a severe speech impediment and persevered in his career in journalism but also in ham radio.
