On a lighter note than my last posting, those of you who read Radio World, a broadcast engineering publication, will want to look at the February 11, 2015 issue which has, starting on page 19 an interesting article about saving the 821A-1 Collins Radio 250 kilowatt transmitter from a decommissioned VOA station. On page 20 there is a good photo of --- wait for it --- our own Rod Blocksome, K0DAS, prominently sporting a W1AW T-shirt and holding a beefy tube. The article would have us believe that the transmitter went to New York to an antique wireless museum but we will wait to see if, all of a sudden, K0DAS gets Roderick-loud. 73, Chris W3KD -- Christopher D.
