Jim, We are aware of the DxCC deadline situation and we have made plans minimize the backlog. This year we are at the desigated staffing level in DxCC and we have also cross trained other employees who can help if the backlog becomes too great. I will also copy Dave Patton, the Department Head responsible for DxCC, to see if he has any other comments that he might want to add. 73, Harold Harold Kramer, WJ1B Chief Operating Officer ARRL - The National Association for Amateur Radio 225 Main Street Newington , CT 06111 860 594 0220 www.arrl.org ________________________________ From: Jim Weaver K8JE [mailto:K8JE@ARRL.org] Sent: Fri 10/15/2010 10:45 PM To: Kramer, Harold, WJ1B Cc: arrl-odv Subject: Pending DXCC Backlog? Harold, Bill Moore's note regarding the deadline for the 2010 DXCC Yearbook unfortunately reminded me of the "difficulties" that have occurred with QSL submissions annually at the end of the year. These difficulties, of course, were minimally manageable backlogs in processing QSL submissions. Unfortunately, it appears that once again there will be no Direct Entry of QSLs from the field to help minimize such a backlog. Is it safe to say that adequate planning will occur to prevent the anticipated backlog from becoming a major aggravation to members . . . and therefore to us directors?
