Seems like Bailey is a local Hartford thing. The Weather Channel calls it Gail: https://www.mercurynews.com/2020/12/15/is-the-big-winter-storm-named-gail-or... Gail/Bailey is coming down here in NNJ. Should peak around 7-9pm. 73 Ria, N2RJ On Wed, Dec 16, 2020 at 1:36 PM Minster, David NA2AA (CEO) <dminster@arrl.org> wrote:
We have been aware that central CT may be impacted by winter storm Bailey tonight into Thursday for some days now.
Estimates have varied widely, but have consistently indicated a major impact. The latest forecast is calling for 11-15” of snow beginning this evening going through tomorrow afternoon.
We are taking the decision now that the building will be closed tomorrow. Employees will be encouraged to work from home – and many already are, or are equipped to.
We will also be postponing the LoTW database server migration to Monday evening. We were just about to begin the communications process with members but will update the announcements with the new date & time before sending.
We also have a tower on the roof of HQ in poor condition. In advance of the storm, all the antennas have been removed to prevent a failure of the un-guyed tower.
We anticipate that Friday will be back to normal.
If you have any concerns, please let me or Diane know.
Thanks.
David
