Jim: I can understand where the question comes from but I think you may have a bit of a misunderstanding. The new Online DXCC entry application does not have anything to do with LoTW or its processing times. The user will enter the QSO data from his cards into the Online DXCC software thus saving the staff from doing the data entry. The Online DXCC is a separate application from LoTW. The Online DXCC applications will be input to the existing DXCC program through a different mechanism, not LoTW. Eventually, meaning later this year as per the 2012 Plan, all DXCC processing will be done via LoTW no matter what the method of input. However, in the case of the Online DXCC entries, we will still be checking the cards in one form or another (at HQ or in the field) and this shouldn't impact LoTW processing time. 73 Barry J. Although some lag may be expected under bursts of heavy load, this makes me wonder what we can expect for turnaround times after direct field entry becomes a reality. In today's climate of essentially instantaneous results over the Internet, it would seem prudent to consider what practical steps can be taken to speed things up. Obviously, success plus modern expectations for digital communications keep raising the bar for Logbook. Tnx, Jim Jim Weaver, K8JE Director, Great Lakes Division 5065 Bethany Rd.
