ODV,

I receive invitations from Rohde & Schwarz to their webinars, including the one being discussed, because I attended one in the past. Ulrich Rohde is N1UL, of course, but “mostly” retired (he’s in his low 80’s, but a couple of years ago had a discussion with my son at an electronics trade show). You can register and attend if you are interested in this one and receive invitations to future ones as well.   Use the link in the below email to go to their website.  Several of their webinars have addressed HF topics – equipment for which they sell.  See below.

Dear David Siddall,

We hereby invite you to our introductory webinar, “HF in a nutshell,”
which covers currently available beyond-line-of-sight (BLOS) communications and focuses on high frequency (HF) communications.

HF communications technology is reliable, proven and has been in service for decades. This webinar is the first in a series covering HF topics and
will illustrate that HF communications is in no way your grandparents’
technology, but rather THE communications solution for the future.
You will receive an overview of currently available BLOS communications
solutions and the latest developments in this field, i.e. HF versus satellite
communications (SATCOM). Rohde & Schwarz experts will highlight all
the relevant benefits of HF, including robustness, capabilities and costs
(CAPEX, OPEX). The webinar will be rounded off with an overview of HF
wideband – a current development – and its pros and cons.

This webinar will give you an overview of BLOS technologies.
Another webinar with in-depth technical content will follow in spring 2022.

Besides the overview of currently available BLOS communications solutions
and the latest developments in this field, you will gain insights into
customer benefits and operations, the current status and pros and cons
of the two HF wideband standards as well as the benefits of HF wideband technology compared to traditional HF narrowband technology.
