I have authorized Barry to order the Lyris upgrade now, and not to wait for the Board meeting.

Barry,

I guess I had not realized things were falling apart to quite the extent they seem to be.

Tnx

Jim:

These issues you noted are primarily with the software that supports all our reflectors/lists. (Lyris) We have kept this version running for longer than we probably should have but put off investing in an upgrade as long as possible. As discussed in the 2005 Plan we are proposing to upgrade to a more current version of this software in early 2005.

Barry, N1VXY

Dave,

Tnx for your note.  I can understand that such things happen.  The concern this raises for me, however, is that this is not merely a single occurrence over a very brief time span.  Rather, we seem to have been having issues of this same general type popping up fairly regularly.  What is being done to address these issues?

Tnx, HNY,

Jim

Jim, we did have problems with the lists that are currently being addressed.

As the accumulated messages spool out there will be duplicate numbers assigned, so don't be surprised if you see different messages bearing the same number.

Dave,

There must be “a couple” of glitches in the ODV reflector and maybe also the OD reflector.  I sent a message (of little value, admittedly) to ODV about 6:30 PM EST this evening.  On returning checking for E-mail at 10:30 PM, I realized this message is still not delivered.  It was about a week ago as I recall that Bob Vallio had a similar problem with delayed delivery of messages.

In view our history of missing message number, duplicated message numbers, delayed messages and who-know-what-other-glitches, can I assume that strong effort is being made to rectify these problems?
