Please find below an item listed on the NJDXA [DX-NEWS] reflector, which is read in many parts of the world. I'm curious why these people are accorded this privilege, and what, if any, cost the League incurs in providing what is made to appear to be an exclusive use of the W1AW facility? Are League members who may visit the station during these hours precluded from operating because of this event? Can more than five operators be accommodated simultaneously? The text in the reflector item lists N2IFB as the fourth operator, but my abacus comes up with a total of five operators. Two are Life Members, and one is a full member. The database listing for N2IFB shows "Nothing in database for n2ifb", and the database listing for W2MW shows: "Membership: Status=A Type=Full Regular (F0) Expires=2004-03-31 (Not an active member)" Bob -- W6RGG ----- Original Message ----- From: "Steve-KF2TI" <kf2ti@mindspring.com> To: <dx-news@njdxa.org> Sent: Sunday, December 26, 2004 6:20 PM Subject: [DX-NEWS] Dec 29 Special Event
Just a last minute reminder that the 3 Steve's ( Steve-KF2TI, Steve- N2IFA, Steve-KB2ENF and Kurt-W2MW, aka Steve) will be guest op'ing at the ARRL station, W1AW, Wednesday December 29, from 1700 - 2045 UTC.
This is our 8th annual WAS DX-pedition to Newington and we will be operating the following bands:
30M CW (Kurt aka Steve aka THUD) 15, 20 and 40M SSB (Steve, Steve and Steve)
Depending on condx, we will hope to try 10M SSB and possibly PSK3.
A 4th operator Andrew-N2IFB will try his hand on 6M SSB.
If you work any 3 operators, we will send you a beautiful, full color WAS (Worked All Steve's) certificate (suitable for framing). No QSL is needed, as we will have copies of the log and send out a certificate to all those who qualify.
This is not an officially sanctioned ARRL event. It is run for fun by the 3 Steve's and a Kurt Amateur Radio Association (all rights reserved) and we are responsible for the printing and sending of the 3 Steve's and a Kurt Worked All Steve's certificate (suitable for framing)
We would like to thank the ARRL for allowing us to play with their great toys and putting up with us each year.
Hope to work you then.
73,
Steve-KF2TI Co-founder 3S&KARA
