I think that Dick and the rest of the
ARESCOMM Committee have a good plan.
Having the information readily available to the Board family could be
extremely useful. Although
I’ve not received any questions/comments/tirades regarding Winlink 2K

FAQ into the best form for posting on our web site and notifying members of its

informed, he/she can help squash uninformed dissent at the local level.

To: Directors ,Vice Directors & Officers,
From: ARESCOM Ad-Hoc Committee
The ARESCOM Ad Hoc Committee is concerned about the
recent instances of mis-information that has been circulated, on various
websites, with regard to Winlink 2000 and ARQ digital modes. Some of this mis- information
is in response to recent Board Actions on the Bandwidth Proposal.
As we get closer to the Annual January Board Meeting,
we are confident that you would like to have accurate and factual information
to make your decisions.
We would like to put together a FAQ on any subject
related to Winlink 2000 that will help you to make a more informed decision. To
do this, we would like to hear from you if you feel you have any concerns that
should be addressed in this manner.
We will keep the document brief and to the point with
appendixes or references to supporting documentation. This will give you an
opportunity to get as much information that you feel you may need as well as
sharing your concerns with the entire Board.
Please send me your questions or concerns prior to
December 13. We will make every attempt to get your concerns addressed by the
end of the week. Thanks for giving us the opportunity to provide you with the
information you desire.
I would also ask Director Goddard to share this
information with the recently elected officials in the Southwestern Division.
