Greetings. Toward the end of the Board meeting, it was requested that I prepare a recommended script for Board members' use in responding to those who express interest in the position now, or to inquire about Mr. Sumner's plans. Below is that recommended script.

RECOMMENDED SCRIPT FOR ADDRESSING THOSE WHO RESPOND TO THE

CEO CANDIDATE SCREENING COMMITTEE ANNOUNCEMENT

Thank you for your interest in ARRL’s management. The ARRL CEO has no immediate plans to retire. While the Board of Directors has established a CEO Candidate Screening Committee as a mechanism for future planning, there will be a considerable and as yet undetermined period before the Committee will commence its work.

ARRL is not now soliciting applicants for the position and no expressions of interest will be entertained or evaluated now or in the near future. At an appropriate future time a call for applicants will be made, including in QST and on the ARRL website.
