To: ODV Social Media Statistics for April
Ladies & Gentlemen:
Here are the April Web and Social Media statistics compiled by Google Analytics and presented by Alli McLellan. All platforms met plan and are showing good organic growth of membership and engagement.
Digital QST remains a highly engaged member activity. But the number of unique users (~14,000) hasn’t changed much in the past few years. Digital QST viewers are less than 10% of total members.

Using Digital QST activity, we can determine the popularity of various parts of
QST (articles, features, departments). Note that WSPR Weekends, a digital article by Steve Ford took 4th place among digital readers. This was the first month that the Joel Hallas “Dr. is In” column did not make the top-10 articles,
and I suspect that with the very sharp growth in the Podcast’s popularity may reduce the QST article’s impact. Make no mistake, the Doctor is a hot topic. Since inception last year, the Podcast downloads exceed 340,000. In April 2017, there were 30,000 downloads
alone.

Instagram slightly more problematic than FB or Twitter continues to exhibit slower, organic growth than the others. Leading posts for April included “Happy Birthday Marconi” and the reference to the article in
Emergency Management Magazine.
