I might be wrong, but Maxim, Diamond, and Life are all indicated within the member data file. Being on ODV would require staff to do a search of archives to find that out. I don't think we even keep a record of past ODV members. Or if we do, it's not available to ODV or membership that I have found. Other than what is listed here: http://www.arrl.org/honorary-officials Either way, showing ODV tags would require an additional search for each and every listing in QST. It would be nice to show the past Director and VD in each division and while we are at it, Section managers. Perhaps that is an item that the next generation of the web site could include. I like this but I agree with the sentiment of of others. When someone becomes Diamond or Maxim, etc., they should be asked if they want to be recognized for that contribution when their name is listed in QST. I wouldn't say "when your key goes silent."
May I also suggest that you add one more symbol to indicate a past ARRL Director or Officer -- although that may become cluttered.

As this is our final goodbye to these members, we were really excited about the idea.
